Multi-technology 3D printer for metals and technical ceramics
M.A.T. (Multi Additive Technology) combines FFF printing, robocasting and CNC machining in one machine for metal and ceramic parts. The system fits in a workshop or lab with no special installation requirements.
3DCeram M.A.T. prints metal and ceramic parts from binder-matrix materials in which fine ceramic or metal powder is dispersed. Its rigid frame allows a single-step switch from printing to CNC machining, so green parts can be machined for a better surface finish. Robocasting extrudes ceramic slurry through a nozzle and makes it possible to combine materials.
The workflow has three stages: printing, debinding and sintering. Because the process is based on FFF, it avoids the risks associated with LPBF, such as lasers and loose metal powder, and keeps PPE requirements to a minimum. The integrated filtration system removes more than 99.99 % of particles larger than 300 nm.
The build volume is 200 × 200 × 200 mm and the dimensional accuracy is 0.05 mm. According to the manufacturer, M.A.T. can build parts with customized infill to optimize weight, strength or material usage.
The listed materials are Ti6Al4V titanium (aerospace grade), silicon carbide (SiC) and aluminum oxide (Al2O3).
No. The system fits in a workshop or lab with no special requirements, and its integrated filtration removes over 99.99 % of particles larger than 300 nm.
Per the manufacturer: bulk density 4.33 g/cc, thermal conductivity at 30 °C 6.8 W/m·K, CTE 9.8 ppm/°C, ultimate tensile strength 940 MPa.
