Overview

The Passivation Module is an automated 3D Lab system for passivating powder materials. A controlled amount of oxygen is introduced into the powder container, where it gradually reacts with the material and forms a thin protective oxide layer on the surface of the powder particles.

The process is controllable and takes 1–2 hours depending on the material. The module is designed for 3D Lab powder containers, and the automated system ensures that passivation is performed safely, with no risk of ignition or explosion.

Once passivation is complete, the powder container can be opened safely. The oxide layer helps prevent corrosion and other forms of degradation and helps maintain the quality of the material over time.

Frequently asked questions

How long does passivation take?

Between 1 and 2 hours, depending on the type of material.

How does the passivation module work?

It gradually introduces a controlled amount of oxygen into the powder container, forming a thin protective oxide layer on the particles. The container can then be opened safely.

Which containers does the module work with?

The module is designed for 3D Lab powder containers.
